As a Public Benefit Company, our commitment to privacy is fundamental to our mission. While our most stringent data practices and our hard line on biometric data will apply to our future products, we extend a thoughtful, non-extractive approach to all information you share with us through our website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the principles that guide everything we do with your data.

By using our website, Devices, App, or Services, you agree to the practices described below.

1. What We Collect (and Why)

Note: The Tap-n-Track mobile/desktop app does not collect or transmit any data. All data remains stored locally on your device. The information below applies only to our website and marketing communications.

Information You Provide to Us

  • Email & Contact Info: When you sign up on our website or through campaigns, we collect your name and email. We use this to send updates, respond to questions, and improve how we connect with our community.
  • Surveys or Messages: If you participate in surveys or send us messages, we use this feedback to improve our products and services.

Automatic Site Data

We collect minimal analytics to understand how people use our website:

  • SimpleAnalytics: We currently use SimpleAnalytics, a privacy-friendly tool that avoids personal tracking. It helps us see things like which pages are popular or how long people stay.
  • Email and Communication Tracking: We track email opens, link clicks, and other interaction data using our email and automation platforms to improve how we communicate with you, tailor our messaging, and better serve your interests. This tracking is strictly for our internal use and is not shared or sold to third parties.

2. How We Use Data

We only use your data:

  • To communicate with you about wellness, product updates, and community opportunities
  • To understand how people interact with our website and campaigns
  • To facilitate participation in crowdfunding platforms (e.g., Kickstarter, Wefunder)

3. Tap-n-Track Mobile/Desktop App

Data Storage & Collection

Local-First Architecture:

  • All data is stored locally on your device in a SQLite database
  • No cloud sync, no server uploads, no data transmission
  • Data never leaves your device
  • The app works completely offline

Database Location:

  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/com.tapntrack.app/tap-n-track.db
  • Windows: %APPDATA%/com.tapntrack.app/tap-n-track.db
  • Linux: ~/.local/share/com.tapntrack.app/tap-n-track.db

Types of Data Stored Locally:

  • Trackables: Names, icons, aggregation settings, time windows, units, default amounts, goal settings
  • Sub-items: Names and associations with parent trackables
  • Count Records: Timestamps and amounts for each tracking event
  • App Settings: Week start day preference (Sunday/Monday)

What We Don't Do (App-Specific)

The Tap-n-Track app does NOT:

  • Collect or transmit any data to servers
  • Use analytics, telemetry, or tracking pixels
  • Use third-party analytics services or SDKs
  • Collect biometric data
  • Collect location data
  • Share data with third parties
  • Use any of the third-party tools listed in our website privacy policy

Data Security

  • Current Status: Data is stored in a plaintext SQLite database
  • Protection: Data is protected by your device's operating system file permissions
  • Future: Encryption may be added in future app versions

Your Rights & Control

Data Export:

  • Export all your data to CSV format via Settings → Export

Data Deletion:

  • Delete all tracking counts: Settings → Dev Tools → Reset Counts
  • Delete all data (trackables and counts): Settings → Dev Tools → Reset Everything
  • Direct access: You can delete the database file directly from your device

Right to be Forgotten:

  • You can delete all app data at any time using the methods above
  • No data retention policies apply (data is stored on your device)

Third-Party Services

The Tap-n-Track app does not use any third-party services, analytics tools, or data collection services. The third-party tools listed elsewhere in this privacy policy apply only to our website and marketing communications, not to the app itself.

4. What We Don't Do

We do not:

  • Sell or rent your data
  • Use your wellness data to train third-party AI models without your explicit consent
  • Store raw biometric data in centralized systems (we design our Devices and Apps such that we never have access to your biometric data)
  • Collect or transmit data from the Tap-n-Track app
  • Use analytics or tracking in the Tap-n-Track app
  • Access your app data remotely

5. Third-Party Tools We Use

Important: The Tap-n-Track app does not use any of the third-party tools listed below. This section applies only to our website, marketing communications, and crowdfunding platforms.

  • Export your data: Use the CSV export feature in app Settings
  • Delete all data: Use "Reset Everything" in Settings → Dev Tools
  • Access your data: The database file is stored on your device

7. Global Privacy Rights & Commitments

App Data: All data in the Tap-n-Track app is stored locally on your device and is under your complete control.

Cirdia honors the privacy rights granted to individuals under the GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable global privacy laws.

  • GDPR Compliance (Global Commitment): Any person, regardless of their location, may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data.
  • CCPA Compliance: California residents may request disclosure of personal data we collect, deletion of personal data, and opt-out of personal data sales (which we do not conduct).
  • Other Jurisdictions: We strive to meet or exceed applicable legal standards for privacy wherever our users reside.

Important Note on Exceptions:

Certain data may be retained or processed as necessary for:
